Julien Ottavi & Jenny Pickett are part of APO33 collective. During their residency at EMS their will work on new composition for Solar Return adn Thêta Fantomes
Thêta Fantomes residency
Thêta Fantomes is a multimedia installation exploring the connections between video gaming, art and current neuroscientific ideas.
Since 1997, APO33’s artistic research has addressed new practices at the cutting edge of digital genres with a particular interest in networked performances and using robotics, networks, web transfer, and performance to create interactive and immersive installations. Specifically, Theta Fantômes is an artistic creation resulting from our current research with networking EEG interfaces as a way of controlling space, light and sound.
With Theta Fantômes the intention is to remove the performer from the typical, “physical” game situation and use brain waves – instead of material manipulations – to produce sound and visuals.
Jenny Pickett & Julien Ottavi’s residency at EMS has been made possible by the kind support of Institut Français and Apo33
Solar Return & Thêta Fantômes will be presented at Fylkingen the 28th of October 2017.
