Summer exhibition Mary Sherman (USA)

Mary Sherman is an artist and director of the non-profit international arts organization TransCultural Exchange, which she founded in 1989 in Chicago. She also teaches at Boston College and Northeastern University, and in 2010 was interim Assistant Director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Art, Culture and Technology (ACT) Program. While pursuing her career as an artist, she also worked for two decades as an art critic for the Chicago Sun-Times, Boston Globe and ARTnews. She has received numerous awards and scholarships, including two Fulbright Senior Specialist Grants, and has been artist-in-residence at MIT and the Taipei Artist Village. Her works, which broaden the definition of painting to encompass space and sound, have been presented at the Kuandu Museum in Taipei, Beijing Central Conservatory, WUK Kunsthalle in Vienna, the International Digital Art Biennial (BIAN) in Montreal, Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Kwanghoon Gallery in Seoul, Trans Hudson Gallery in New York and, more recently, as part of a tribute to the legendary performance series 9 Evenings: Theater & Engineeringlose characterspace , 9e2: 9 evenings of art, science & technology.
