“Festival of new Polish music”

Meeting with Polish composers and Nantais musicians.
The time of an evening of Polish composers and musicians meets the Nantes scene of experimental music and new music. Beyond an exchange, it is for this generation of artists to create an emulation and share current research in the field of these music. The musicians of the ensemble Dime (electronic violin) join the evening to play new Polish music, as well as compositions by artists from Nantes.
Project title: Polish Avant-garde music 20th and 21st
Polish Musical Avant-garde of the 20th Century century is a project initiated by the Sanatorium of Sound Festival / Sokołowsko and referring to the work by the greatest composers of the Polish musical avant-garde of the 20th century.
New interpretations will be given to works by such composers as: Karol Szymanowski – the first composer of the twentieth-century Polish avant-garde; Włodzimierz Kotoński – the doyen of Polish electroacoustic music; Kasper T. Toeplitz – Polish composer living in Paris, blending contemporary music and noise genre; Józef Koffler – the only dodecaphonic music maker in Poland, Grażyna Bacewicz – outstanding Polish violinist and composer.
The interpretations will be performed by renowned Polish musicians, such as Barbara Kinga Majewska, Kasper T. Toeplitz, Gerard Lebik, Piotr Zabrodzki.
The concerts will be accompanied by a multimedia exhibition referring to the works of the twentieth-century Polish Musical Avant-garde.
The project will be presented in France, Germany and the Czech Republic as a continuation of the activities by the Sanatorium of Sound platform in international cooperation. The Polish artists will be joined by artists associated with international centers, in this way strengthening and developing the dialogue in the field of contemporary sound culture.
