Radio Noise Collective

Radio Noise Collective is a live participatory performance in which radio becomes an instrument, a transmission system and a shared sonic space. Julien Ottavi and Jenny Pickett work with portable receivers, small AM/FM transmitters, antennas, interference, feedback, live signals and repurposed electronics to construct an unstable network of sound. Local frequencies and electromagnetic activity enter the performance alongside generated and transmitted material, allowing the particular conditions of each place to shape the composition. The project can also involve invited local artists and members of the audience, expanding into a collective radio improvisation where listening, transmission and interference circulate between bodies, devices and the surrounding environment.
