Comment produire de l’art des nouveaux m\u00e9dias cr\u00e9atif improvis\u00e9 collectif et sp\u00e9cifique \u00e0 un site qui soit sensible aux besoins \u00e0 la fois des artistes participants et des sites\/communaut\u00e9s dans lesquels et avec lesquels l’\u0153uvre se d\u00e9roule\u00a0?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Medea Electronique will be leading an intensive two-day workshop on the creation of site-specific new media art (with a highly improvisational flavor) focusing on identifying, acting upon, and negotiating the sometimes conflicting, yet equally valid, needs of all parties involved in the creation of such art. How can site-specific art serve as a means of caring for both the artists and communities involved? What practices can best facilitate such care, and what practices should be avoided? How can artistic agency be distributed amongst a group of artists and a wider community? How can new media art itself serve as a site for care, respectful both to its participants and its environment? Based on its decades-long experience in the creation of collective site-specific art, members of Medea Electronique will discuss the history of its own collaborations and the development of its ethics of care in new media art. We will also engage the participants in an analysis of their own work in this area (both actual and proposed), and sketch what such a project might look like which embodies the principles of care and speaks to the collective artistic interests of the participants. Participants will come away with a richer understanding of the potentials inherent in collective site-specific new media art for enacting care, a template for actualizing such projects, and a new set of potential collaborators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TOC est un projet international dirig\u00e9 par un groupe interdisciplinaire de praticiens cr\u00e9atifs, d’universitaires, de chercheurs et d’organisations artistiques sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9s dans les technologies cr\u00e9atives et qui ont une exp\u00e9rience consid\u00e9rable dans la production et la diffusion de ce type de connaissances \u00e0 travers l’Europe et \u00e0 l’international, qui se sont r\u00e9unis pour forment un \u00ab r\u00e9seau critique de soins \u00bb. Le r\u00e9seau collaborera pour partager son expertise collective et ses connaissances techniques utilis\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re cr\u00e9ative pour d\u00e9velopper les connaissances et les m\u00e9thodologies de soins. L’objectif principal est de produire un TOOLKIT OF CARE bien formul\u00e9 et int\u00e9gr\u00e9 comprenant des articles, des prototypes, de la documentation audiovisuelle, des manuels techniques, des analyses th\u00e9oriques, des prototypes et des donn\u00e9es. Il servira de mod\u00e8le pour partager avec succ\u00e8s les connaissances et l’expertise entre diff\u00e9rentes r\u00e9gions g\u00e9ographiques et groupes sociaux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
