From July 11 to September 2<\/em><\/p>\n Mary Sherman is an artist and director of <\/span>the non-profit international arts organization<\/span> TransCultural Exchange, which she founded in 1989 in Chicago. She<\/span> also<\/span> teaches at Boston College and Northeastern University, and in 2010 was <\/span>i<\/span>nterim <\/span>Assistant Director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology\u2019s Art, Culture and Technology <\/span>(ACT) <\/span>Program. While pursuing her career as an artist, she also worked for two decades as an art critic for the <\/span>Chicago Sun-Times, Boston Globe<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>ARTnews<\/span><\/i>. She has received numerous awards and scholarships, including two Fulbright Senior Specialist Grants, and has been artist-in-residence at MIT and <\/span>the<\/span> Taipei Artist Village. <\/span>\u00a0Her <\/span>works, which broaden the definition of painting to encompass space and sound, <\/span>\u00a0have been <\/span>presented at the Kuandu Museum in Taipei, \u00a0Beijing Central Conservatory, WUK Kunsthalle in Vienna, the <\/span>International Digital Art Biennial (<\/span>BIAN) in Montreal, <\/span>Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts <\/span>at<\/span> the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Kwanghoon Gallery in Seoul, Trans Hudson Gallery in New York and, more recently, as part of a tribute to the legendary performance series 9 Evenings: Theater & Engineering<\/span>lose characterspace<\/span> , 9e2: 9 evenings of art, science & technology.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Facebook event<\/a><\/p>\n
