This event, set in the historically rich <strong>C-Lab<\/strong> in Taipei, Taiwan, will take place from <strong>April 9\u201312, 2025<\/strong>. It offers a unique opportunity for artists, technologists, and researchers to reimagine communication and broadcasting in a post-NET world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4>A Historical Backdrop<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>C-Lab, our host venue, carries a legacy of transformation. Once a military base, it housed the Taiwan Provincial Government\u2019s Central Research Institute at Da\u2019an, following its establishment as the Industrial Research Institute of the Taiwan Governor-General\u2019s Office during Japanese rule. Today, it serves as a hub for cultural and creative experimentation, making it the ideal setting for Radiotopia\u2019s interdisciplinary pursuits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4>Themes and Focus Areas<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Radiotopia fosters creative exchange between Taiwan and Europe, emphasizing <strong>care<\/strong> in community learning, sustainability, and collaborative knowledge-sharing. We invite contributions that explore:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Radio as Art<\/strong>: Engaging with the EM spectrum creatively and critically.<\/li><li><strong>Experimental Transmission Media<\/strong>: Investigating new forms of radio broadcasting.<\/li><li><strong>Open-Source Innovation<\/strong>: Sharing tools and software for democratizing radio art.<\/li><li><strong>Sustainability in Broadcasting<\/strong>: Employing small-scale, energy-efficient frequencies.<\/li><li><strong>Resilient Communication<\/strong>: Decentralized systems for diverse communication infrastructures.<\/li><li><strong>Cross-Cultural Collaboration<\/strong>: Strengthening planetary connections.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4>Get Involved<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Radiotopia welcomes diverse formats, including <strong>papers, panels, workshops, performances, and installations<\/strong>. This initiative brings together an interdisciplinary network to develop a <strong>Toolkit of Care<\/strong>\u2014a model for sharing expertise across geographic and social boundaries.
